Alicia McCray appointed director of Institute for Urban Education

Dr. Steven C. Russell, Dean of the College of Education, has recently appointed Alicia McCray as the Director of the Institute for Urban Education. McCray's responsibilities will include implementation, under the direction of Dean Russell, of the charge of the Institute.

Alicia Rodman McCray most recently held a leadership position at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, where her responsibilities included organizational culture, leadership development, and employee programs. She will bring to the Institute her experience and connections from ten years of service as a Board member of the Matteson Elementary School District 162, where she has bee Board president for the past four years. She is currently a member of the Illinois School Board Association South Cook Division Executive Committee. McCray and her husband have lived in the Park Forest community for 34 years, and have a strong history of active involvement in local and civic affairs. She looks forward to her work with the Institute and Governors State University.
