Dr. Eric Martin Appointed CE Acting Dean
1 July 2007 - Dr Eric Martin, Dean of GSU's College of Arts and Sciences, has been appointed to serve as the Acting Dean of the College of Education. Martin steps in to take on this role following the departure of Dr. Steven C. Russell, who has stepped down from the deanship in order to serve as Special Assistant to the Provost.
Dr Ed Cehelnik, retired chairman of the Division of Science in GSU College of Arts and Sciences will assist Dr Martin in the role of Temporary Assistant Dean of the College. Dr Cehelnik previously served as Acting Dean in the College of Education during 2002 and 2003.
The university plans to begin a national search for a new permanent dean for the College of Education in the near future.
