October at a Glance for the Friends of the GSU Library

October is a busy month for the Friends of the GSU Library. To start off the month of October we have the:
Friends of the GSU Library Historical Society will meet October 8th from 12:00 p.m. - 1 p.m. in the Library Administrative Conference Room. Everyone is welcome, so come join us!
Save room for dessert because the Friends of the GSU Library are having a bake sale on October 14th in the Hall of Governors. The bake sale will run from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. unless we run out first! So don't end up disappointed, show up early to make sure you get the best selection.
Are you ready to get a head start on your holiday shopping? Then make sure you come to the Silent Auction on Wednesday, October 15th. There will be many great gifts for you to bid on, from gift certificates to original works of art. For a preview of the gifts to be auctioned off visit the Silent Auction page. Something for everyone on your shopping list! The auction will start at 12:00 p.m. in the Hall of Governors and end at 7:00 p.m.
Want to find out more about the Friends of the GSU Library? Then join us at the next meeting on Wednesday, October 15th from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. in the Library Administrative Conference Room. Don't worry, you will have plenty of time left to go to the auction and place your bids. For more information on how the Friends of the GSU Library have benefited the Library read the attached article that was published in the Phoenix on August 6, 2008, and written by Chris Gloff.
Winter is on its way and along with winter comes those cold, frigid days when we would rather stay nice and warm indoors with a good book to read. Worried you won't have enough books to get through winter? Worry no more; the Friends of the GSU Library will be having a Book Sale on Thursday, October 16, 2008. Friends of the GSU Library (must have your Friends Card) will be able to preview the books from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (don't worry, you can join the Friends at that time). The Book Sale will open to the public at noon and end at 7:00 p.m. The Book Sale will be held in the Hall of Governors.
The GSU Writers Group will be meeting on October 21, 2008 in the Library Administrative Conference Room from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
The Friends of Mysteries will be meeing on October 22, 2008 to discuss the Thirteenth Knight by Allen Gordon. The discussion will start at 12:00 p.m. and end at 1:00 p.m.
To wrap up the month, the Friends will be sponsoring a Blood Drive on October 30, 2008 in E-Lounge.
